چکیده

ABSTRACT: Radar is gaining increasing credibility as a technique for rapid and accurate topographic mapping. Precision and accuracy of elevation and ground displacement assessed from Interferometry SAR (InSAR) depend essentially on phase difference or interferogram quality. The phase noise degrades the visual quality of the interferogram and increases the error in phase unwrapping results. Many methods to decrease speckle noise were applied to SAR intensity images, however these can not be applied directly to the interferogram image since intensity SAR information has a different nature from that of the interferogram. Interferogram filtering decreases problems in phase unwrapping by minimizing the residues number. Several filters have been proposed in the literature. In this paper, we proposed an improved vector filter based on an adaptive window. Results are compared to existing filters.

A Comparative Study on the Performance of the Insar Phase Filtering Approches in the Spatial and the Wavelet Domains

In this paper, we studied and tested different filtering approaches of the SAR interferograms in the spatial and wavelet domains. In the spatial domain, we applied the classic Lee filter and the Weighted Median Filter WMF. In the wavelet domain, we tested a noise reduction algorithm WInP proposed by López and Fàbregàs and its enhanced version FAMM developed by Abdelfattah and Bouzid. Those filt...

A noise model for InSAR time series

Interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) time series methods estimate the spatiotemporal evolution of surface deformation by incorporating information from multiple SAR interferograms. While various models have been developed to describe the interferometric phase and correlation statistics in individual interferograms, efforts to model the generalized covariance matrix that is directly ...

Presentation of the Small Baseline Nsbas Processing Chain on a Case Example: the Etna Deformation Monitoring from 2003 to 2010 Using Envisat Data

We assemble a processing chain that handles InSAR computation from raw data to time series analysis. A large part of the chain (from raw data to geocoded unwrapped interferograms) is based on ROI PAC modules (Rosen et al., 2004), with original routines rearranged and combined with new routines to process in series and in a common radar geometry all SAR images and interferograms. A new feature o...

On the absence of InSAR-detected volcano deformation spanning the 1995–1996 and 1999 eruptions of Shishaldin Volcano, Alaska

Shishaldin Volcano, a large, frequently active basaltic-andesite volcano located on Unimak Island in the Aleutian Arc of Alaska, had a minor eruption in 1995–1996 and a VEI 3 sub-Plinian basaltic eruption in 1999. We used 21 synthetic aperture radar images acquired by ERS-1, ERS-2, JERS-1, and RADARSAT-1 satellites to construct 12 coherent interferograms that span most of the 1993–2003 time int...

Advanced interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) time series analysis using interferograms of multipleorbit tracks: A case study on Miyakejima

[1] InSAR time series analysis is an effective tool for detecting spatially and temporally complicated volcanic deformation. To obtain details of such deformation, we developed an advanced InSAR time series analysis using interferograms of multiple-orbit tracks. Considering only right(or only left-) looking SAR observations, incidence directions for different orbit tracks are mostly included in...
